Mariela Franganillo

Mariela Franganillo, the Company director, is an internationally known producer, choreographer, teacher and dancer of tango. Her dance experience ranges from the milongas of Buenos Aires to Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Broadway.

A featured dancer in Broadway’s Forever Tango, Mariela’s show credits include Eternal Tango, XTango, Avantango, Tango Fusion, Carnegie Hall’s tribute to Paquito D’Rivera with Pablo Ziegler and touring with Julio Iglesias.

Mariela's production credits include her tango shows: Tango Noir (2008), which combines humor with the dark side of tango; Tango Connection (2007), exploring the types of love one might experience in a lifetime; and Swango (2003), the swing and tango musical. Mariela also produces the NY Tango Marathon and the annual New York Tango Festival on Columbus weekend in New York City.
